Do I have anxiety? I don't feel myself

Posted , 9 users are following.

i am only 13 and I am always worried, as soon as I stop worrying about one thing I worry about something else. For example I felt a lump and I immediately thought it was cancer I didn't tell anyone until I finally couldn't handle the stress of worrying. I have a huge fear of dying and it is always on my mind, I always cry and I don't know what to do. I never have a worry free day. Please help me. I have been feeling like this for about a 3 weeks and I just want to feel better. Please help me x.

It's obvious you're very anxious all the time.  Did something really bad happen to you?  Are you stressed at school?  With other people your age?  Perhaps you need to someone proffessional to speak to.  Many people suffer from the kind of anxiety where they're constantly worried, especially about health issues and cancer.  Sounds you like you could benefit from having someone to speak to on a regular basis in confidence and discuss issues.  Maybe get to the bottom of why you're so anxious all the time.  Talk to your school counselor or guardians about seeing someone or contact a mental health community service if you can.  Nobody should have to live with this ongoing anxiety.  Some people have benefitted a great deal from having someone to speak to regularly.

Charlotte (and that is such a pretty name) I am 74 yrs old and in good health but I remember back to being 13 and 14 and had similar proglems as yours. One summer I thought I had polio (I'm here in the US) and my parents took me to the doctor who said I needed to go away, which they did by taking me to an apt near the beach.  Now I don't know if it was being so young but that terrible fear finally subsided. But in "those days" we didn't know about counselors, etc, medicines.  So I had anxiety off and on til 14 years ago when I finally went to psychatrist and got counseling and I also take an anti anxiety pill, lowest dose, which I'm been on for 14 years and I am just fine.  You, dear, should talk to your parents if they are open to such things, or go to a counselor in your school, tell them the situation, and ask to be r eferred to a mental health person.  You need to tell all this to someone who can understand be able to help.  Talking to someone who is not attached to you is very helpful.  I don't know you but I don't want you to go through with anxiety in your life.  If it can be helped now - do it.  It might take some time,  but it will be worth it.

Please ask to see a psychologist. It definitely sounds like anxiety to me. It's exactly how I've been feeling my entire teenage life (I'm 21) but I waited way too long to see a professional and now it's taken its toll on me, my anxiety has led me into depression and I don't want that for you. You're way too young to be experiencing anything but joy and happiness in life, you shouldn't be feeling so anxious. You should ask your parents to take you to a psychologist and they will help you get over that in no time smile

    Hi Charlotte,

Tell your parents about it if you can, tell them you would like to see a psychologist.

The lucky thing is your only young, so your brain is still growing and very adaptable. If you find a psychologist to help you, you will be able to quickly grown your brain in a new way in order to stop the anxiety and have a fun amazing life again.

    Take care
