Do I have fibro?

Hi,
I haven't felt well in a while. My symptoms are:
Neck, shoulder, upper to mid back ache, headaches, heavy headiness, sometimes feel giddy, joint aches, aches in wrists, restless legs, poor sleeping patterns, sinuses feel congested, tired a lot of the time especially after housework, when I do sleep I still feel tired and yawn a lot. I get anxiety too from all of this taking citalopram 10mg, also diuretic in mornings.
Sorry for the winge. I thought it might be anxiety and side effects of meds but I'm not sure.
Thanks

Maybe you should demand a referral too. if anyone can answer your queation to if you have fybro or not is a rheumatologist.
Good luck.

Thanks for replying. Although fibro sounds horrible it's still a relief to think that it is not life threatening.
I've been to see a consultant when I had palpitations and shortness of breath. I had heart tests done and all came back ok. At that time I had this ache in my back too. I asked him then (November) if it could be fibro and he said that it could be. He said he was going to refer me to a rheumatoligist but I am still waiting. He wanted to check whether it was osteoporosis.
I still have the ache in my back and more.
Thanks very much, I'm sorry that you are suffering with this. Are you taking meds for it?
Regards
Sarah 😊

I would try and chase up your referral to the rheumatologist as it's them who diagnose fybro and hopefully you will get an answer..

I too was given propranolol about 3 weeks ago but they made me so tired I couldn't do anything so I stopped taking them. I was also on citalopram at the time so I'm sticking with that for nowas anxiety not as bad as it was then. I take anadin extra for my aches and pains. I can't take anything with paracetamol in, apart from anadin, because they make me nauseous.
Oh happy days eh!
Best wishes
Sarah 😊

That's how I am. I used to go everywhere in my car, couldn't stay in, even after work. Now I only go out if I have to. I don't know for sure if I have fibro but it feels like it. I've lost confidence because of it. The only advantage is by not going out I'm not spending money but I do want to get back to normal. I recently made a new friend who suffers from vertigo but because of the way I feel we are losing contact. I arrange to meet up with her but then I don't feel like going. My mother tells me it's all in my mind and my husband thinks I'm imagining it all. Today I woke up feeling groggy headed and I have this persistent back ache behind sternum and around that area. My ribs feel tender and I think that's costochondritis because I was diagnosed with that before. I have also hadshortness of breath but I've read that it is common with fibro as people with fibro don't take deep enough breaths.
I have lost weight also because my appetite isn't the same as it was. I look ok on the outside (with make up on) and that gives me a bit of confidence.
I do sympathise with you because you have fibro and arthritis and that must be very painful. I'm hoping when I eventually see the rheumatologist they don't say I have osteoporosis, that would devastate me.
With spring and summer ahead I'm hoping that my mental state will be more positive and give me the encouragement to go out and socialise more.
I hope you will feel well again, all we can do is try and stay positive and do the best we can.
My best wishes to you, take care
Sarah 😊 x
