Do I have fibromyalgia? 11 years with symptoms.

Hello everyone. I'm a 30 year old female who is going thru health concerns at the moment. Having heart symptoms but wondering if it could be related to symptoms that started at 19 years old for me. Here goes: It all started when I was 19. I started getting pain all over my body, and I worried it could've been cancer. Then I started getting daily headaches. Then muscle twitching started. It is not jerking of legs or arms, but small twitches under the skin which I can actually see (fasciculation). I also noticed I had pain in random places which was not very painful, but it def. Was there. Then the horrible fatigue started.I got married at 20 and now have 3 beautiful children. Mind you, I suffer from horrible health anxiety, general anxietyas well as depression. Ever since I was 19 I started with very bad fatigue that limits how much I can work due to being very tired. I wake up everyday not feeling refreshed at all, and I also feel stiff, and wake up as if my muscles are stuck or something and I just feel achy all over. I also experience tons of numbness and tingling in arms and especially legs. Now fast forward to today. In February I started getting chest pains on the left side of chest. More like 24/7 stabbing pains. I had never had this. Went to ER twice, thinking heart attack. Everything normal. Lately I was so anxious about having heart problems, and I started getting mild dizziness. I have been getting heart palpitations as well. There are times when my chest stabbing pains happen on their own, and other times when I move in certain ways it shoots a stabbing pain. I'm currently having heart testing with a cardiologist just to check if my heart is fine. I was trying to connect my symptoms that started 11 years ago to the ones I have Now. I haven't been checked for tender points but for the first time I pressed on my elbows sides and next to my inner knees and I do feel a little pain when I press in that specific area. Is it possible I have fibromyalgia and have never known? Do u think my heart symptoms are connected to my past symptoms? Thank u everyone.

Have your doctor run a full panel blood test checking for any vitamin or mineral defiency. There Is a test FM that can also be found. A rheumy who specializes in FM can help you with specific tests and physical exams.

Sorry to hear you are having such worrisome symptoms Claudia. It is very hard to go to a doctor and describe all these varied symptoms and in the end usually being diagnosed as having anxiety. But the pain you have is real and your symptoms certainly sound like Fibromyalgia. As the previous lady mentioned, it would be good to have all the blood work done to see if you have any deficiencies. And many Fibromyalgia sufferers do get chest pain which may resemble a heart problem. I know I did. If it is FM Claudia at least you will know what you are dealing with and you will learn to cope with this condition. You must have a great deal of stress also that perhaps you can learn more how to manage it. As I have mentioned to other lovely ladies who are dealing with a great deal, learning to be kind to yourself and giving yourself sufficient rest can help Tremendously. We put heavy expectations on ourselves and we rarely recognise our limitations. Or we feel guilty that we cannot perform like so many seem to do. So I have learned never to compare myself to others because everyone has their own unique circumstances. So don't despair Claudia. You will be able to cope and figure out what you need to take better care of yourself. One day at a time my dear!

Hi claudia51624 For definite diagnoses for fibromyalgia, your dr needs to refer you to see a rheumatologist its normally a rheumatologist that diagnoses fibro. and that is after other conditions it could be have been ruled out eg rheumatoid arthritus. from what your describing it sounds like it could be fibro. fibro is based on widespread pain the pain can be any where in the body. fibro also has many many symptoms eg sore throat earache tinnitus sleep problems fatique loss of hair numbness tingling headaches migrain anxiety depression fibro affects our entire body from head to toe. costocondritus[ chest pain] is a symptom of fibro but any chest pain needs to be checked out by dr, which your having done. dont be surprised if everything comes back ok as with fibro usually everything comes back normal. you may be low in vitamin d in which case you need vitamin d tablets. It took me 10 years to get a diagnoses for fibro that was after seeing every specialist you can think of. blood tests galore ct scans mri scans bone scan exrays heart specialist lung specialist back specialist nurologist every test I had came back normal a part from 1 blood test that showed low in vitamin d. my dr in the end sent me to see a rheumatologist who did the 18 pressure point test, sent me for more blood tests which showed low in vitamin d a bone scan which came back fine. He then diagnosed fibro and sent me back to my gp for pain meds. I would see a dr take a list of your symptoms tell them how you are on a daily basis, see if they will refer you. hope you get an answear soon take care
