Do I have GERD? Trouble taking a deep breath of air.

For a few months now I feel as if I can't take a full lungful of air. Once I even went to the hospital but they didn't know what was wrong and put it down to anxiety which I do have. I also feel (usually in bed at night) some kind of pressure on my chest and find it better to lay on my side. I've also put on weight around my middle and it doesn't seem to matter what I do, I'm struggling to get it off. I also have the acid thing and my doctor gave me Omeprazole which does help with the acid but I've read it cat mess with your gut bacteria so I don't want to take them indefinitely.

I feel fine in the morning and I'm wondering if this is because I haven't eaten for 12 hours.

Can I ask: Does this sound like Gerd? Is weight gain common with Gerd? Is there a way I can control my GERD with something apart from prescription drugs?

Many thanks.
