Do i have lpr, nerve damage or...

Hi, first off i would like to address that i did not come here to be scolded, but i need a supportive ear, as my family right now is not the best support system. I have been dealing with constant post nasal drip and throat clearing for about 2 years. I am a 5'11, skinny, 21 year old male and this condition has put me through the ringer. I am a post marijuana smoker and marijuana essentially started this. It was when i was 19, i was with a friend, and it wasnt alot to smoke that night, ive done more, funny i didnt even want to smoke that night, nevertheless i did. I messed up though, there was no means to hydrate me and im pretty sure i was gonna throw up. I got up and i remember wobbling bouncing back and forth to the bathroom. Now i dont know if was the dehydration or the drugs, i go to the sink to drink something and next thing i know i wake up on the floor. I locked the bathroom and my friend knocking, i get up and say i need to leave. I do, and while im walking back to my house i throw up violently. I dont think much off it, i go to my room and my throat is burning, more than usual, i think nothing off it, ive been through worse. I wake up the next morning and this is when my hell starts. My throat hurt, but went away, then i felt as if i had a cold. But this cold was different, the mucus was dripping to my throat, and i felt a globus. I didnt have insurance as my parents were no financially well off so doctors were a no no. So i tried to figure this out on my own, i went through every antihistamine possible. I mixed and ended up with a pretty bad dry mouth that stretched to my throat. It was bad for about 3 months, keep in mind i stopped smoking through all this, as it caused it. But one day i was super down and a friend of mind offered me a hit, weed, i was in so much pain i thought why not. Low and behold my throat felt better instantly and ive never dealt with throat pain since, unless due to dryness. I was amazed, my throat was better, but i still had the post nasal drip. I wouldn't budge to the doctor, not worth it in my case, so i went to teas, lemons, onions, nothing worked. The globus went away, but with it came a coated white tongue i would literally have to scrape. I broke nothing worked, so i went to the er, they told me i had reflux. Didn't believe them, so for a whole year, i did nothing but smoked, cause it made my throat feel better, and looked for a doctor. The next year i find this doctor and explain to him now with better information, i hold no signs of silent reflux, no chronic cough, no real trigger food other than actual pepper, i can swallow properly, all the symptoms of lpr i did not have, just the drip and occasional burn burps if i eat something peperry. So he put me on ppi, it did nothing. SO i tell him how i was looking in to things and i thought how it could possibly be nerve damage. As the vomit i mentioned earlier was so violent. So he put me on lyrica, more or less it dried my entire mouth and ive been dealing with it ever since. I want to go to ents and doctors, but my financial situation, and me technically taking care of my parents, and my unhelpful medicare put me in a predicament. I cant find some of the doctors, or ents in my area. No one covers me, so i wanted some opinions before i make my next move.

The one thing we have in common is the onset of symptoms following a violent regurgitation. My episode was the result of food poisoning. I was diagnosed with LPR (silent reflux) by an ENT and had my upper GI tract scoped by a Gastroenterologist. You mention medicare so I'll guess you are in the US. However Medicare is for age 65+ seniors unless your situation allows. You need to do more to find a Doctor who will work with you to properly sort this out preferably a Gastroenterologist as the ER is not the proper place for an in depth evaluation.

I totally agree with James, you need to see a Gastroenterologist ? or an ENT, you might need both. I'm not sure how it works in the States but you would probably not need to continue seeing either specialist for a lengthy amount of time just get a diagnosis and go from there.
?Did the doctor put you on lyrica just like that because you said it might be nerve damage? It seems a bit of a random thing to do. Lyrica can be used for anxiety? Did the doctor mention you might be suffering from that? I can tell you from personal experience that some of the meds for anxiety can dry out your mouth terribly. I only had to take them for a very short time because of a muscle issue I had in my throat, so I know it's nothing on the scale of what you're suffering through.
?For the dry mouth, I'm presuming it's your throat too... did you try Dioralyte sachets, rehydration salts? they rehydrate you really quickly and while my body was not dehydrated my throat and mouth was parched constantly, I have to say they were a miracle for me . They didn't solve the issue but they helped me cope with it. You can get them over the counter in the chemist and they're cheap.
?Ask in the chemist about something for the drip, there are over the counter things that can help, you might have a sinus issue so talk to the pharmacist and see what he recommends.
