Do I have Pancreatitis?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I have had three Amylase blood test with slightly raised levels. Not overly raised one was 192 . I get upper left abdominal pain that is worse after eating and the pain spreads to my back. I constantly feel nauseous and can only eat small amounts of food before feeling full. My Gastro consultant said mild raised levels indicates Chronic Pancreatitis but they don't think I have it as I don't have oily diarrhoea. Can anyone tell me what else would elevate the Amylase levels or is it Pancreatitis?

Hi Sharon, i have been having very similar symptoms of late including body wide itching. Some of my liver function tests were slightly raised too but my GP does not seem too concerned. It seems the Gold standard is a CT scan with contrast, though my GP wont refer me.

    Good luck

I too had an itch and I got a rash when the pain was bad. My Gastro consultant isn't very good so I have asked for a second opinion. I have had the pain since Sept 2015.
