Do I have Shingles in eye or face???

My right eye has been twitching for about a week now. My left eye twitches as well but not as much as my right eye. I also noticed maybe two days ago I got what looks like a little pimple on my forehead however today it seems to be a tingling pain sort of what I have on my back when I was diagnosed with shingles. I have had shingles on my back since I was 23 I'm now 36 and I seem to get an outbreak every 3 to 6 months but always in the same place. Should I be worried?

I feel like I'm paranoid and maybe just have dry eyes because I do wear contacts.

I get pimple looking bumps, but they do not feel like a pimple. This is what my shingles rash looks like. I would definitely think it was shingles if you are getting the other symptoms; fatigue, flu like, itchy/tingly, pain......

I have chest pain but it's from my shingles on my back. I have a burning sensation similar to what I had on my back on my forehead between my eyebrows. But I've read you don't get it in other places... I just feel like since there is nothing really visible the doctor will dismiss me and send me on my way. Guess I'll keep a log and take pictures to see if it progresses and see an eye dr.

I know that it is more common to get it in the same place and only on one side, but there are many of us who get it in different places and on both side, and yes it still is shingles. I would just go in and say you know what it feels like and get on the antivirals asap

    Dear Adrian,

Without examining you, doing a full physical and history, and extracting fluid from vesicles, it is difficult to diagnose you. That remains the area of your health care professional to diagnose. I would see your clinician.

I am sorry I cannot help you further.

    Best Regards

Actually Adrian, you can get a rash in more than one dermatome or area. For those of us who have recurrent episodes of Herpes Zoster Shingles, I feel that we are more apt to have rashes in different areas or dermatomes. As I said, I usually have it in my right ear, but have had it in my right eye, as well. My antibodies were tested, IgG & IgM for Herpes Zoster Shingles, which was positive, and negative for Herpes Simplex.

      Merry Juliana
