Do I still have a UTI?

My symptoms started on October 9th. I have lower back pain (mainly to the right side). Pain in lower right abdomen (sometimes in the left side as well)

Urine came back as higher white blood cells indicating an infection. After 3 lots of antibiotics, the last sample came back clear.

However, I am still experiencing the pain and abdomen pain. Last night was probably at its worst as I felt sick as well. 

The doctor has arranged for me to have bloods taken next week Nov 4th. In about 4 weeks I will be having a scan on my ovaries/pelvis/bladder.

Doctor said that if i didn't feel any better to go back. I saw him on Tuesday. How long should I leave it?

    Hi Amanda, I would go back now if you are still suffering. I think 3 days is enough! I had to go to GPs every week for 4 weeks because of an infection. Fortunately I wasn't in pain like you so don't feel you are making a nuisance if yourself!

    I've been through exactly what you're describing 

    The stinging pain and the burning and colorful urine has went away for me but my back pain is still still there for weeks now 

    it's the right thing to do to check your pelvic structures did u do a urine culture and came back normal after treatment ? then yes the UTI is gone if u didn't do a culture ask ur doctor for it 

    drink plenty and plenty of water unless ur doctor says otherwise it helps the healing process faster it washes away all the bacteria and remnants from infection

      I never had the stinging, coloured urine. Just the back pain and abdomen pain.

      The couldn't get a culture to grow, doctor said it was possibly because I had been on antibiotics for 4 days.

      Having suffered with dermoid ovarian cysts, I am now wondering if it is another causing the pain.

      yes as i said get your ultrasound done and a urine culture when you are clear from antibiotics at least for 48hrs

      please update me with what happens cos apparantely you're going through the same as I am

    Just a quick update. Have been back to the doctor today. Urine is fine.

    I got to see my original doctor that I used to see. He remembered me. He said that it is more than likely adhesions causing the pain. I am holding myself directly where my appendix scar is. 

    It is very unusual for a 49yr old to have Ovarian cancer but obviously he couldn't rule it out 100%.

    The surgery still had not written for me to have a scan!!! That was a week ago tomorrow. Disgusting. He has promised to chase it up immediately.
