Do tonsils swell with Chronic Bronchitis?

I'm in a little pickle here. I've had bronchitis symptoms for 3 months now. It started when my son got sick. We both were sick at the same time. But, mine never went away. I went to a doctor a few weeks ago, got an x-ray, which came up clear. However, the doctor noticed my tonsils were swollen. He diagnosed me with bronchitis and tonsillitis.

After taking the antibiotics, I got a bit better, but my wife got sicks and gave it to me. I feel like it reset me again, and a week after (this week), I still have mucus in chest, a nasty cough with that mucus, chest pain, and of course my tonsils being swollen.

I'm worried I have Chronic Bronchitis, but the tonsils being swollen is throwing me for a loop. That doesn't seem right to me? Isn't tonsils unrelated to bronchitis?

I'm surely going to see a pulmonologist come Monday.
