Do you drink coffee with your SVT?

I'm curious how many of you drinking coffee with your SVT's? I don't drink coffee at all because I'm worried it will trigger my SVT, but sometimes I'm dying to drink a cup of coffee. Does coffee trigger an episode for you or not?

I've drank de-caff coffee for many years, due to suffering heart palps, and thinking it may help, which i do believe it did. All i ever had was moderate heart palps. However last year, in work, I started drinking a lot of normal coffee. Workmates etc. making me them, I let my guard slip. I was rushed to hospital last year with a heartbeat of nearly 200bpm. Diagnosed with svt🙁. Advice was......no caffeine. And I can cope with that. As I said, I drink de-caff but I let my guard down. However, on a flight home from Spain this year, they had no de-caff coffee on board, so I chose a hot chocolate. Wow...within 15 mins my heart started racing like mad. I was terrified because I was stuck up in the air. Thankfully it didn't blow up to svt level, it went within 15 mins. Since found out hot chocolate contains caffeine too. So more hot chocolate for me. I'm now scared to eat chocolate. Sorry for the long rant

I have had SVT for about 2 1/2 years, but had been drinking decaf before it started. I am so cautious not to have caffeine. Chocolate I love but am very careful, and of course no pop. I am fine with ginger ale. Decaf has come a long way. There is about 8 mg in a medium cup. A lot less than regular coffee

I drink coffee, even when having an SVT. Some types of coffee can trigger but I find tea is worse. I also think bread, chips & Roquefort cheese have triggered me. Everyone is different!

Yup I totally agree with tea.. Before bed tonight I drank not even half a cup of regular Lipton tea and woke up in the middle of the night with my heart racing... It's scary..

I drink decaf or half calf coffee pods and I don't have as much as a problem like I would regular coffee... Also just learned tonight that regular tea is bad.. Dealing with another episode... Also avoid taking melatonin because that effects svt majorly..

Though I did read that the only tea,

people with svt can drink is black tea, green tea and peppermint tea..

hope this helps , plus more info!
