you went off zoloft for awhile then tried to go back on it and it didnt work? same thing happened to me when i was in Effexor. went off of it, two years later, tried to go back on it and it didnt work. doctor said my body built up some type of immunity to it. so now i am on Lexepro and Latuda and they work great. you may want to make a switch. i also use xanex for the panic attacks if needed. just wanted to share that with you

my symptoms were pure panic when i was on effexor for the second time and it didnt work. symptoms included shakiness, faster heart racing, mind racing, sweating, throat closing up (kind of like something stuck in it), stomach problems, acid reflux, could not sleep, chest felt like 100 pound weight sitting on it, confusion, exhaustion, lack of motor control, sharp shooting pains in my upper arms, bubbling my words when speaking. just a pure panic. and i would have rather died than put up with another second of the panic. i wanted to crawl out of my own skin, because the effexor did not work the second time. so after a brief visit to the ER and sedation, my therapist put me in touch with a great psychiatrist who put me on Lexepro and konopin. my psychiatrist then retired about a year later, and my therapist introduced me/ referred me to another psychiatrist who was a friend of hers and he modified my meds to replace the kolonopin (because it made me groggy) with xanex and supplement my lexepro with latuda. and thats my story. 2 months ago i quit taking the latuda (only) because they wanted 1500$ for a 1 months supply of latuda and my insurance would not pick up anything on it because i hadnt met my deductible. now with the corona virus, 3 weeks ago i had heavy anxiety almost to a level 10, but thankfully my therapist was available by phone and talked me through most of it. i took a good week before my symptoms came back down to a level 5. i then did a phone conference with my psychiatrist and he put me back on latuda with sample packs he had in his office and we are now getting latuda from Canada because its only 99$ there. my anxiety is finally back at a level 2 now.

my new psychiatrist also tested me for ADHD which it turns out i have, and put me on Vyvanse as well.

is your doctor going to be able to make the changes you need? is he/she going to know the latest medications for anxiety out there ? i mean if your medication is not working like we already discussed, you are going to need some one who understands your mental health needs, we are not talking about a cold or an infection, this is your head and you need the right kind of relief. just worried he wont make the necessary adjustments to your meds.

hi davis. I read what you said about going back on exeffor a second time and that's exactly what's happening to me second time on citalopram. I've been on it for 6 months now and it's crazy how bad I feel. some symptoms slightly different to yours but pretty close. it worked great the first time. was wandering how long the side effects and symptoms took to go away after you switched? I'm convinced changing meds the same thing would happen to me again on a different med but need the anxiety/depression gone. thank you x

good idea. 6 months of agony is a lot. i can only tell you what i am on now and how long it took in my system for it to activate for full effectiveness. mind you, just because a medication works for me, doesnt mean its going to work for you the same way, as we all have different chemical make ups. but anyway, with that being said, i am on Lexepro and Latuda. i also, at the same time, got tested for ADHD and i have Vyvanse for that as well. now i also had a little help switching, as the doctor put me on .5mg of Xanex to get me over the hump, in case of anxiety and panic while i was making the switch. it really came in handy and i would suggest you ask the doctor for the same type of medication (adavan, konopin, valium, etc., all do the same thing, so it really doesnt matter if you get Xanex or one of the others, i just prefer Xanex because it works in as little as 15 minutes to calm me). the Lexepro took 2 to 3 weeks to get into my system for full effectiveness and the Latuda (good stuff by the way) took 2 weeks to work as well. but dont start these meds consecutively. start the lexepro (or whatever you decide to go with) first and let it work its magic and then see how you are feeling. you may not need to supplement the Lexepro with anything, it may be fine by itself, but if you think you could be feeling better while on the lexepro (or whatever they prescribed), they can boost the effectiveness with a supplement like i have. i still have anxiety but its manageable, but i am happier person and function a lot better now. i did have one episode for about a week when this virus hit us, but i had stopped taking the Latuda on my own due to the cost and my insurance wouldnt pay for it and i did not have $1500 dollars for a one month supply. it seems the better something makes you feel, the more money the medication companies want.

i have since, started back on Latuda and feel great again. i found another pharmacy in Canada that only wants $99 dollars for a 3 month supply. so thats it. i wish you luck and let me know how you make out. you can ask me any questions you may have at anytime.

This wont happen to you. I just had twins, 2 years prior, I was over exhausted and beginning to unravel. Keep it positive, if I was that sick and I was 100% ok, trust me you are fine too. I suggest you change diet, no sugar , no whites, no processed oils, no gluten, no milk, no processed food at all. Go organic...pasture raised eggs, grass fed meat , grass fed butter is okay, veggies. salads, low glycemic fruits and drink plenty of water. Too much sugar or anything that turns into sugar worsens anxiety.

And yes I did have massive chest pain, all anxiety.

thank you so much for all the positivity! im very careful with my diet too,but now that my anxiety is worst i have no appetite at all! ive lost 25 pound in two months, looks like every time i eat causes me palpitations and makes my anxiety worst! can i ask how you manage your anxiety now , what helps with the chest pain and all the feelings?!

I talk myself down, put cartoons on and I put an ice pack behind my neck, as this slows down messages sent from brain to the rest of the body. I also drink a little pedialyte as this has perfect ratio of sodium to potassium , which I'm sure you need. If you lost 25 lbs, as I did as well your body is starving for nutrients. You need a little extra salt in your water, preferably Redmon sea salt or Himalayan salt, this will help if you get dizzy a lot. Your creating an imbalance by not eating, which makes anxiety worse. I know it's hard as my heart would beat fast too when I ate but start off with a low to no sugar electrolyte, then eat a low carb meal , start with almonds. then 3 eggs, no bread. Slowly increase and drink a lot of water this dilutes all that adrenalin in your blood that causes this. It's a slow process but you will improve. I also take 5HTP, omega 3 high in DHA , B complex (in active form), inositol/choline, Miticore multivitamin , magnesium, and adrenal support. You can improve, try therapist too who specializes in anxiety. Hope this helps.
