Your symtoms sound exactly like mine.  I had acid reflux or at least the doctor said it was that and TONS of diarrhea, the last bout before getting my gall bladder out was after eating Byers Cookie and Cream ice cream, I was SO SICK I had to lay in bed for three hours.  Thinking back now, I have had a ton of stomach issues, like diarrhea and bloating for years.  I always thought it wsa something I ate even though I dont go out to eat.  And then I thought I found the culprit:  chocolate but at times I would get real sick when not eating chocolate.  It was very frustrating and preventing me from doing things.  I had back ache too but not sure if that was from gall bladder (though I do not have back problems, my back ache was from my lower right back).  If you get get an ultra sound done to check things out inside that woudl be great.  I finally did and have gall stones; got my gallblader out five weeks ago and feel GREAT!!!!

Not the top portion of the ribs for me but perhaps everyone is different. Sounds like tests are needed. See doc.
