Do you guys think it's a tumor?

Hi! I'm a 14 year old girl and I recently noticed that one of my knees looks deformed when I bend it. It seems larger. Again, this is only when I bend it.
I've felt that knee as well. The bone feels the same as on my other knee, but larger.
The knee also hurts a bit when I walk on it. It's just very weak pain and it doesn't bother me at all. It comes and goes and only lasts for a few seconds. I also experience this pain in other parts of the leg and sometimes in my other leg. My other knee snaps when I climb the stairs.
Do I really need to worry or am I overreacting? For the last week or so I've been worried that there might be a tumor in my deformed knee.....

Hi Rickrollergirl, have you talked to your parents about this? Not being a Dr I can't tell you if there is something wrong with your knee. When I was fourteen I had something called Osgood Schlatter's (sp), a knee issue that was not serious, and was taken care of within a few months. I think you should ask your parents to take you to the Dr so you can ease your fears. Let me know how it goes. I will keep you in my thoughts.

There are so many things going on at your age its hard to know unless you discuss it with a Dr. In your case, a pediatric ortho would be my suggestion. Yeah I know, you're too big for baby Dr s but believe me, they are your best health friend. The biggest thing is peace of mind when it comes to knowing what's going on.
Joints (the kind that bend and give you movement, not the other kind) are really hard to call. It could be growing pains and you could have just tweaked it in daily activities or you could have just strained it a little chasing boys. Most of the time a simple Xray will ease your mind but the main thing, if it's bothering you, Talk to your parents and get help. Let us know what happens. BTW, a good place to start is at a children's hospital if you have one close by.
Go get ' em kid, you deserve the best. You're the future of the world. We don't need our leaders trying to run things with bad, aching knees
