Having suffered with OA for more than three decades I'd certainly like to think that help is at hand but with a couple of honourable exceptions the help seems to be painkillers.
Exception one is the OT who prescribed splints for my painful wrists. All I have to do is remember to put them on and they are bliss. Lawn mowing. Slicing the bread ready for freezing. Vacuuming. Changing the duvet cover.
Exception two are the neck exercises from ARC which mean I can still reverse my car. Too old to have learned to use wing mirrors; they were optional when I passed my test! Otherwise I find that keeping moving is my best option.
Contrary to the experience of many, I have not found the hot summer any comfort at all and every change in the meteorological indicators my bones protest.
Pin killers make me feel sick so I'd rather have the OA pain.
If anyone has better answers I'd be very glad to hear

Many people adjust their normal activities to accommodate the pain caused by inflamed joints. Others opt for surgery to replace worn out body parts like knees and hips. Untreated, arthritis can lead to depression.
The sooner you can start physical therapy after symptoms of arthritis begin, the more likely you’ll be able to maintain strength, prevent permanent joint stiffness and preserve or increase strength in the surrounding muscles.
