Do you think this fracture will need surgery?

Hi all, I have an appointment with a specialist surgeon next week to see what treatment path I'll be going down but was wondering if any of you may have an idea also.

I've broken my 4th toe. The diagnosis was proximal phalanx displacement fracture of the 4th toe.

Doctor also called it a unstable spiral fracture and was adamant I would be needing a pin inserted into the toe.

I've been reading that displaced fractures often need surgical intervention based on how deformed the appendage is, I'll attach my xray.

What do you guys think, would this fracture warrant surgery?

Thanks in advance

It looks similar to the fracture of my middle toe that I sustained in February this year. I had surgery the following morning as there was an open wound across the joint, and a pin inserted as it was an unstable fracture. Surgery went well and pin was removed approx 4 weeks later. Toe is fine now apart from the odd ache. Good luck!
