Doc Martin

Hi all,

did anyone else see last nights episode of Doc Martin ?

If you did, I'd like to bet that you wished you had a Doctor Ellingham around to make such a quick diagnosis of PMR.

The poor chap in the story wasn't even a patient of his !

I wonder who is responsible for the subject in the story lines, I think the writers must have been delving deep, alongside that story was one of a man with abdominal pain caused by a hair-ball !!

Even though the 'story' of the man with PMR was very short, at least it got a mention !

Best wishes to all.

Yes I did find this rather ironic when you read about all the people on this forum who go undiagnosed for ages and who seem to have to beg for blood tests to confirm the illness !!! Im sure all my friends who saw this will now be looking intently at my forehead to see if there is anything visable they have missed !!

Wow Devonshire Dumpling, thanks for the tip. I think I'd better cancel my appointment with the Consultant later this week and phone Doc Martin straight away. I'll probably know by midnight tonight exactly what's wrong with me and be cured by breakfast time, excellent stuff can't wait  On a more serious note, Casualty used my Grandson's very rare and difficult to diagnose illness in a storyline last year and used several very negative details in a gratuitous way. Poor lad, caused him quite a few problems for a while, so I just wish they would think before they act. Still at least we got a mention! Hope you're keeping well.

Well, I was annoyed they could not even get it right. Doc Martin said 'pain in temporal artery, you have PMR'.

Researchers should at least get it right, GCA symptom, not PMR.

MrsK - I was so envious that I missed this but my husband came upstairs to tell me about it and even he said they got it wrong! (which proves he's actually been listening to me!!!) Who is going to be brave and tell them?!!! Best wishes to all. MrsO

    Yes Mrs K,

I thought that the advice given to the writers must have been misleading for the info' to be so wrong to the viewer. I was shouting GCA at the screen !

Never mind, gave some of us a laugh, well needed !

    Best to everyone.
