Doc wont discuss possible endo

Hi all, for the last six years after complicated birth of daughter and three miscarriages since and suffering constant pain through out my cycles. with bad depression, sleeping all the time and joint pain and shortness of breath i am constantly back and forth to gp but all they seem to say is the only thing we can do is take womb out... So is that normal for them to say that without checking if i have this condition?

    Hi laura.

I do not think this is correct. A Hysterectomy is a last case scenario. They should not be recommending that. The first step is to get a laparoscopy if anything, which is a keyhole surgery to see what is going on in the area.

But being a person with endometriosis, your symptoms of miscarriages and painful periods are endo symptoms, although the depression, sleeping all the time, joint pains and shortness of breath could be something else. The only reason why someone with endo might have those symptoms would be if they are on medications to treat it, or on birth control. Are you on any medications?

I would recommend to get a second opinion and go for a laparoscopy if you're really worried. Definitely do not go for a hysterectomy unless it is the last solution.

hi yasmin77, thanks for the reply. No im not on any medication, they put me on pilk for 6 months after second niscarriage to regulate periods which helped because i was suffering extremely bad ovulatuon pains ( which the gyn then offered to take working ovaries out) its a joke. I have had a hsg test and they said i have slight adhesions but no doc has ever bothered consulted me about it. in the last month i have seen 4 different docs and all ignoring what i am really saying... so frustrating
