Docs differ in opinion

I have had 3 dislocations in 26 months. My surgeon suggest a new liner and probably a new head, 2nd opinion agrees. My intent right now is to try my hardest to strengthen the muscles to avoid another dislocation and a surgery.  Doc 1 says no special therapy exercises, but walk, bike ride, swim.  Doc 2 suggest theraphy.  Can anyone share a similar experience?

Sorry for your problems!  I am still too early in my recovery,  I think to have all that happen.

I guess I'd better keep on with my exercises or else!!!...

    Good luck with your repair.

Oh so sorry to hear about what's going on.  No experiance with that but may I ask....what were you doing to dislocate it those times?  And so I guess they just popped it back into place without surgery also?  Hope you don't have to go through it again.

Thanks Connie.  All 3 times I was in a very similar position, leg slightly elevated and bending forward, as if to put lotion on the leg.  (I'll not be doing that for a good while.)  When it happens you take an ambulance ride to the ER, no surgery, and they knock you out while it's relocated.

I can't believe that after that after  2 years you did it with that little movement.  I WANT to put lotion on my own legs! (and cut my toe nails)

Glad to hear they knocked you out while relocating it back.....but still NO FUN!

Gosh, I feel sorry for you.  I lean forward like that to put lotion on my leg.  I shall be very, very careful after reading your experience.  Good luck for the future.
