Doctor called regarding STI results, but made appointment for next week. Can my results be negative?

I got a Pap and swab done two days ago. My doctor's office called today and made an appointment for a phone consultation for Monday. I'm concerned that this may mean I have an std, but I'm confused as to why my doctor wouldn't ask me to come in and get treated as soon as possible.

A little background info - I've had chlamydia once in the past (approx. 3 years ago - also the last time I tested for STDs and got a pap). My ex-partner had been cheating on me and that's how I contracted it, but I didn't know that at the time as he had tested negative. At the time, however, I didn't know he was sleeping with other women and we stayed together so I'm worried I may have contracted it again, had it for the last 3 years, and passed it onto my current partner now as well as possibly developed PID.

Would a doctor make me wait 4 days for a phone consultation if my tests were positive?
