Doctor experiences

I was diagnosed around April this year.  Looking back I can see I made some errors, but I also think my Gynecologist failed to impress upon me the gravity of this auto immune condition.  Only now in October can I see the results of this...some of my labia has fused! and quite honestly I do blame myself, but I also had no idea what I was dealing with...anyway, I thought I would ask other people to share their experiences of their doctor and their treatment....

I finally got my biopsy results today , good news ! everything came back normal , but and there always seems to be a "but"  no other instructions on how to proceed , l am presuming l still use the medication l have now ?? At the appointment she said just to put vaseline on , only when desperate , l am thinking that was for the aftermath of the biopsy , because the soreness will not go away on its own , although l have to admit the vaseline is more soothing than the wax like cream l was prescribed and if l apply the dermovate in small doses very rarely maybe l might be ok ? I have another appointment in 4 mths so at least she is watching the situation , which is a step forward in itself . l have an appointment with a uroligist in Dec which might help me , my problems in that area dont help my skin , so hopefully l might go into the new year with a few answers and some solutions .

Winifred, thats good news! and must be a relief.  I dont think I would put the clob on the areas where you have had the biopsy until it is completely healed, I think I would stick to whatever works for now, like the vaseline...but as you all know I am no expert lol!

It is good that she is keeping an eye on you.

      Have a lovely day.

Winifred, I'm glad to hear you have nothing worse than LS (it's bad enough!). I think you're right, keep up the maintenance dose of clob. As with all steroids, it's not good to go off them cold turkey. (I've lived through the bad things that happen.) Everyone who's come on here after a biopsy has had the wounds heal fine after a while. A donut cushion might help in the meantime.

Morrell thanks for the advice , your right about a cushion, my husband says l  should take my own when l go out ha ! I really hate hard dining chairs whatever happened to "coffee in the lounge " nobody leaves the table anymore.  Sounds sad l know but LS makes normal things hard. Anyway on to the uroligist  next ! A good day today !

I too cart a special cushion along.  (I've cut a hole in one of Canadian Tire's car cushions.  You can take the inner part out, cut as desired and put back in its cover.  Works well for this purpose.)  Most dining room chairs give me problems after sitting too long.

      Hope you heal well.
