    Hello,

I have been on Gabapentin 600mg x 4 times daily for 14 years.  I also take codiene 60mg x 3 times daily so you can mix iin 'normal' analgesia on doctor's advice.  I have been lucky to have no side effects on a day to day basis. I did see a specialist who said the dosage I was on 300 mg x 3, was no good for my problem.  Thank goodness for modern medicine with all it's imperfections, it does at least give us pain sufferers a life.  Maybe not the one we would like but a life, severe continuous pain takes some living with and Gabapentin is a big help.

Hi, I take gabapentin 4 times daily x 3 x300 plus codiene 6 tablets daily and paracetamol up to 8 tabs daily. Sometimes it makes me sleepy but it eases my pain. Hope you soon find a dosage that suits you.

I take 3 x 300mg gabapentin pills night and morning for leg pain from spinal stenosis also I am to take naproxen pills  3 times a day, but I just take  one as needed. I used volteran pills for along time with good resuts but the Dr. said they have found it hard on kidneys. so he changed me over to gabapentin and naproxen.   Ron

Yes you can take other painkillers but probably best to check with your doctor to see that they are compatible with the gabapentin. I am on 900mg of Gabapentin  a day but still need to take paracetamol now and again when pain breaks through
