Doctor in NYC?

Posted , 6 users are following.

Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with LS by a dermatologist 2 years ago. Since then, I've been seeing my gynocoloist for follow ups.

While I like my gyno, I'd really like to see someone who specializes in LS, so I can see a doctor who has the best knowledge of the condition.

Does anyone here see a specialist in New York City? I can't seem to find anyone online.

Thank you!

There are different treatments approved such as PRP (I think) and few doctors do it in the US. I think it is experimental still. Other than that special treatment, the ideas you read here and the recommended treatment by doctors of Clobetasol or comparable is all there is.

It would be a drag to travel long distance to see other specialists and they say the same thing.

I think gynecologist are the best and they may know if any surgical options are advised.

    Good luck!

I think I've read everything on the Internet.

Thank you for the info! I've been using Clobetasol with my treatment with my gynocologist. Glad to hear you think gynos are the best to go to! I wasn't sure if a dermatologist or gynocologist would be better.

I did see advertisements about gynecologist specializing in LS in Las Vegas but like I said I think they probably have the same knowledge and advise as my gynecologist.

Many gynecologist are pap smears, breast exams and occasional yeast infection. I go to a specialty gynecologist in central Florida. She rarely delivers babies as her practice is mostly the unusual. She is an expert in her field, professor, surgeon. I would keep trying to find a specialty gynecologist.

Have you joined the FB page for this? There is a list of specialists the moderator has collected from followers.

Thanks for your feedback! I didn't think to look up gynocologists who list it as their specialty. Maybe Zoc Doc might be helpful for that. I didn't know there was a Facebook page! I'll look that up too. Thank you!

I think there are a few Vulva specialists and that would be better than a gyno. I found one in Florida where I live but he doesnt take insurance so I havnt bothered. There arent many around but Im sure there is one in NY area.
