doctors-rheumatologists listern up!

:x come on, i know the medical proffesion read some of these experiances- LISTERN TO THESE PEOPLE PLEASE. approx 90% of these patients have suffered, some for many years because of wrong diagnoses, alot being told their pain is phycological. I AM ONE OF THESE PEOPLE.......grrrrrrrrrrr! i have been in agony since 2005, not just my neck but a few other joints, was sent to a rheumatologist he done blood tests and a blood scan :?: all came back 'normal' well this was now sketched onto my medical records, so that anyone that opened my file must have seen 'hypocondriac' written all over it, didn't matter what i complained about \"all tests came back normal, theres nothing wrong\" so not only was i in agony i was very frustrated, which l was then put on anti-depressants, and told thats why i was in so much pain!!!!!!!! :x grrr....... er NO! i was down because i was in pain and no-one was listerning!!! the funny thing was i was sometimes starting to believe my gp- maybe it was all in my head. so i just got on with life- in pain. then i had a car accident an orthopeadic doc up hospital sent me for an mri scan, that was in feb, got the results, and have cervical spondylosis, and two prolapsed discs, i was told i had had this condition a long time, and was very suprised i had not had any treatment, and that it was never picked up- so i wasn't going MAD...yippee! now i'm on good tablets (well better than nothing!) and due to have an op at kings, london. i know i won't ever be pain-free but knowing what is wrong makes it a little better to cope with, oh and i changed my gp, if he couldn't listern to me when i really needed him then i would never have trusted him again! also my new gp done x-rays and found i had OA in the joints i had also been complaining about.

well docs etc... take note... people do feel pain and i can asure you, untill you've actually felt this pain yourself, please don't judge..try to listern and believe. smile

i wish all fellow sufferers well, and i hope things change and the gp's etc are made more aware of this very painful condition.

see ya mandy

hello, jadeen thanx for the reply, you have suffered a long time, sorry to hear. i know i rambled on abit. the tablets i've been on and still taking are diclofenac, co-codamol and diazepam(only when needed) i thought they were for depression but they help to relax muscles, which i need cos i tend to keep my neck stiffer because of the pain (i say 'stiffer' because its quite stiff anyway). i'm due an op on my prolapsed disc's, don't know whether it will help my CS, consultant didn't say, and as for my arm's, well i had slight problems before my accident, but now my prolapsed disc's have made it 100 times worse, i have pain down them right to my fingers, numbness and pins & needles also in my left leg, and bladder problems. i don't know when my op is  but i hope it's soon, i have to keep laying down cos my head sometimes feels too heavy for my neck, sounds abit silly i know but its the only way i can descibe it. anyway take care i'll keep the sight posted,

please let me know how your too, ok
