Doctors say IM FINE!! Still problems with heart/chest

I'm a 15-year-old guy, really underweight being 5"8' and 102, and I currently haven't eaten in like 16 hours but I have had symptoms of tightness in chest shortness of breath, sometimes chest pain, and months ago id have a really uncomfortable arm, and light pain in it, pain in my left leg sometimes, my hands and feet are cold and clammy, sometimes tingling, ive got some of those symptoms for months even a year, but the cold hands and feet are about a month new. A year ago I was a checked by a physician and he said I was fine, then we had an ER visit after going to urgent care TWO WEEKS AGO because the symptoms were really bad and I could bearly breath (I also have horrible anxiety & am under a lot of stress because of some personal issues but try not to under diagnose me just because I have anxiety), and at urgent care the EKG came out slightly abnormal and before this we had a pediatrition appointment and he said he wouldnt delay a trip to the ER right now so we went to the Emergency room they did chest xray and another EKG after the phsyisican at urgent care told me it was slightly abnormal, and eveyrthing turned out fine!!, we saw a pediatrition on tuesday last week and he did an ultra sound and it was good, so im so confused if this is something with my Thyroid or lungs or blood type..

But last night I had a freakout because the symptoms were worse like tightness in chest and heavy breathing and I was debating telling my dad to bring me to emergency room but he told me Im fine and I don't want to frustrate him because maybe I am fine and it just feels like my body is giving up on me and yelling at me to see a doctor. As of right now I have tightness in chest, and heavy breathing, and doing simple things like standing up and walking around gets me shortness of breath, I was just putting a belt on and I got neck fatigue and I start breathing heavily. I also think I have orthostatic hypertension (when you stand up quickly you don't get enough blood into your upper body and head). Another thing to note is that my feet always and sometimes hands turn bright red in the shower, and today i showered in hot water but not that hot i don't think, and then my lower right back started to hurt on the side and I read about it and it said that WHEN YOU GET IN THE SHOWER YOUR CIRCULATION IMPROVES AND IT COULD MEAN YOUR KIDNEY IS NOT GETTING ENOUGH BLOOD. I'm scared for my life but don't want to waste my parents time. I also feel I'm not getting enough blood to my brain because I have been forgetting a couple of things in the last month and also my speech has been like slurred sometimes. Thanks for reading all this please im desperate for a possible diagnosis or answer.

    Hi Ulysses,

?It sounds like your state of mind and being stressed has amped up your anxiety a lot. I experience a lot of these physical symptoms, too. Especially when I am having a bad day or am particularly stressed. I get chest pain that feels like my rib cage is so full and the pain radiates into my shoulder/arm, I have had numbness in my limbs, my palms sweat profusely, I get "flank pain" like you described in your lower back. I have thought I have orthostatic hypertension, a brain tumor, cardiac disease.. many things. In the end it is all my anxiety tricking me into believing these things.

I know this may not be what you want to hear, as I sometimes get frustrated when people tell me this as well because these feelings and pains are so very real and quite frightening, but the chance that all of these physical symptoms being caused by anxiety is much more probable than the chance of something being seriously wrong with you. You are young, and have had tests done. If anything was really seriously wrong, that EKG would not have come back normal. Neither would the ultrasound, etc. It is often times hard to put your faith in doctors when you have anxiety like this, but it is important that you do, or you will never feel at peace

?Stay OFF Google. Do not Google your symptoms! If you must, add the word "anxiety" to the end of what youre Googling and you'll find a whole bunch of articles on how anxiety can cause everything you are feeling. Googling symptoms was always my biggest mistake, and would send me into a complete panic every time. It sounds like you really need to relax and try to keep your mind occupied. Have you tried exercising, yoga, or meditation? Exercise is clinically proven to improve your mental state - yoga and meditation will help to calm both your body and mind. Have you been to therapy? I just started going and it is very helpful to have a professional to speak to and further put my mind at ease. Watch your favorite TV show, read a good back, listen to your favorite tunes.. you need to get your mind off all these things and they will eventually go away.. trust me. I have felt it and been through it all. I am not a doctor, but it really sounds like your body is just responding to stress and anxiety. I really think you will be OK. Reach out privately if you would like to talk about this more specifically - remember you are not alone.

Wow. Thanks this helped alot, I have reached out to many people and my mom is thinking about therapy if it gets worse. I have tried the app headspace for meditation and it helps i just havent used it recently, my ways of relieving stress are usually hanging out with my dog or talking to friends or going on my computer and playing video games, which might not be the best way. I will focus on something else and I try to not let it get to me, its good to know someone else had the exact same symptoms.

Once again thanks, ill update you because ive had a lot of people "talk me through" anxiety but you have a way with words. Regards.

Those sound like great coping mechanisms. I play video games too, it does help to put your mind somewhere else. I’m glad I was able to help. Yes, please keep me updated. I know exactly what you are going through!!

I just got a blood test done. Waiting for the results which could take a while. My mom puts me on the red section of the stress meter every day of my life, I'm with my computer at my dads on the weekends and that is the only place I feel calm when I'm not worrying about my health, he is really relaxed and nice and funny but I won't be with him for a couple of hours from now. I'm still really worried my breathing is heavy and I have a tight chest, I don't really have a way to relax because my mom takes my phone and computer away and is always yelling, sometimes she can have a big heart, but she is the most irrational obsessive person, and does these weird guilt trip things for everyone to stress herself out without her even realizing it. She is insane and I can't change her so I'm trying to avoid her as much as possible, she calls the cops when I go to my dads because of the court order. I'm going to deep :P JUst thought I'd update ya

Oh no. I’m so sorry. That sounds terrible. How old are you? Could you reverse the court order or something? Not too sure how that all works but sounds like your mom forces you into a negative state. It sounds like your dad’s house is a lot better for you. Try not to think about your chest and breathing. I know how uncomfortable and frightening it is as I have experienced it myself. Always felt like my chest was “full” like my rib cage was gonna burst open. Let me know how your blood test goes - have a feeling it will come out A-ok. Hang in there.

Im also seeing a psychologist tomorrow for my mom and I. I am anemic, but I am not very skinny or pale. It is just a deficiency of iron in your blood and really isn't too serious and is easily treatable with iron supplements, so don't worry about it too much. Frankly you are way too young to be so focused on your health - you have to live life to the fullest.

Hi ! I'm F18 and i know that this was quite a while ago but i was just wondering if you ever found the cause of your symptoms or if it was just anxiety in the end. i am experiencing almost the same thing and all of my tests are coming out normal and they are telling me its just anxiety. I just really would like to know why i am experiencing this, I have pretty severe anxiety as well, but i have for many years and never presented these symptoms . Thank you if you do get around to responding to this!
