How do doctors check diabetes and high blood pressure? my blood pressure was 120/82 when i went to doctor friday. but when i went to the ER last week for chest pain my blood pressure started out good but kept going up at the ER when they had me hooked to the machine.. so that made me think i have high blood pressure now because i been feeling dizzy with some left arm pain and shoulder pain. Also how do doctors check for diabetes ? is it your glucose score? because mine was 84 in standard range. i had a physical done at the end of February and she said my cholesterol has come down but still kinda high and my Triglycerides was high they was 315 and the highest in standard range is 0-149 so im trying to figure out whats causing me to be dizzy and arm left arm pain sometimes.. because with all these symptoms and my test results . my doctor hasnt mentioned high blood pressure or diabetes .. she really thinks im crazy and offered me counseling now and just told me to come back in 4 weeks to check blood pressure again. she really didnt seem concerned at all.

Hi John, I’m sure all of this makes you feel even more anxious.
Many times when we are in the hospital, especially the ER, your blood pressure can go up just because people get nervous at those places.
But your blood pressure at the doctors office was very good. Go by that blood pressure. You most likely got dizzy in the ER because you thought you had high blood pressure. Anxiety can definitely do that!
Your blood sugar of 84 was normal. Apparently the doctor was not concerned otherwise they would have done more testing. My guess is that the doctor feels you Do not have high blood pressure or diabetes buthave anxiety which is causing those symptoms. Try reducing your anxiety and then check your blood pressure but don’t obsess over it because like I said anxiety can increase the blood pressure. You need to be totally relaxed before you check your blood pressure. If you find it is staying in the normal range then you can relax.
There are some great audios on YouTube to decrease anxiety.
so just relax and do things that relax your mind. Do some slow long deep breathing, and if anxiety is a problem for you, counseling does help. It helps to vent to somebody else who can show you how to manage it better. ??😁

Thanku Thanku that helped so much and put a big smile on my face lol.. my main concern is because my head continues to hurt not just in hospital but it’s been hurting at home and feeling dizzy with the left arm pain on and off with numbness in hands .. maybe it’s anxiety maybe it’s not but it’s giving me symptoms like it’s high blood pressure or the heart 😢
