I have been to my doctor today for a check up, got a copy of blood results but double dutch to me, can anybody help please.

I could not have wished for a better doctor, she understoodpolymyalgia, and gian t cell arteritis, she disscuessed this with me as for a week i have had slight pains in my head, all day today, checked my ears and throat and my temple as the pain has been there, she was great.

My vit d was very low so eight weeks of tablets to take, i had to go to the nurse for my bloods doing again, and she will get in touch if need too.

She wants to see me agin in 2 weeks, and if any problems in the mean time i have to go see her.

She thought the weight loss was due to my loss of apetite, but keeping a check on that.

She asked if i had reduced but i told her no, as the pain is still in my neck and she said good, do it as you see fit, i was surprissed as i was armed with papers, but she went through them one by one with me.

I certainly agree with what others say--your doctor sounds wonderful.  Maybe next visit she can help you determine what to look for when you get test results.

I hope so, its just with being new i dont know what i should be asking about , but i am going to make a list again, and keep reading what you ladies say on this forum for information. She even showed me excersises to do for the cramp, and said tonic water(not slim line) might help

Tonic water has quinine in it which helps cramp. My doctor gave me quinine sulphate on prescription. I hate tonic water!

I only like diet tonic - and it is nowhere to be found here - just the sugary version which I detest! G&T is a uK treat...

I had to give up a lot because of PMR - I didn't give up wine after trying it and finding it made no difference to the PMR. What I did find was that I found some white wines a bit acid to my taste where they hadn't been before and both I and lodger found we had to give up our beloved heavy reds. In the meantime my taste has returned a more normal (for me) range and I'm fine with lighter red wines - but even Merlot is still a bit dodgy. It's a case of trial and error - but our local red wines are very light and I'm fine with them.

Oh horror, giving up heavy reds, I think life would stop for me. I am so glad your taste buds have decided that they are improving again. I heard once that when you are very young you prefer sweeter wines and then you start wanting more and more acid ones. Then as you get even older you want the sweeter ones again. Blue Nun here I come!
