Does anxiety cause back pain?

This is something I forgot to mention about to my doctor as I stopped getting back pains for awhile now.. It has been a week now since I dealt with lower back pain and I'm curious if anxiety can cause this or stress. I remember I used to suffer from back pain a lot during middle school and high school to where the point it would get really bad that I would almost faint as everything around me would be very black. Strangely it goes away whenever I drink something and this is just very weird. Now it just fades and returns a few minutes later. What's the best thing I can do to treat something like this safely?

Anxiety can hit your body anywhere I have mouth problems from anxiety. Try a cold pack on on the aching spot. if that doesnt work try a a warm pack. . at least its safe either way .

The fact that it goes away when you drink makes me think you may be dehydrated or have kidney stones. If you have anxiety, you must stay hydrated. 8 glasses of water per day is the rule. Have you been to the doctor for an ultrasound to see if you have stones ? Anxiety can cause almost any pain you can imagine, but the lower back makes me think kidneys. I would call my GP and see about getting checked. Are you urinating regularly ? Is it an even flow ? Or does it spurt or come in bursts ? Hows the color of your urine, any pinkish urine ?

Could be most likely dehydration. When I look back at it now, it does make perfect sense. I barely drank any water when I had really bad issues with my back. And haven't seen my doctor for an ultra sound to see if I have kidney stones. I did get a blood test done and did a urine sample test as well and had a physical check up a few months ago. I do urinate regularly and it flows, I drink nothing but water a lot and avoid sugary drinks. My urine color is mostly clear.

Thats very good. Okay, so drink 8 glasses of water today (before the days out) and see how your back feels tomorrow. I bet it will feel better. You will be urinating like crazy and it should be clear drinking that much water, but you need to do it. i drink about 10, 12 oz bottles of water a day. I urinate quite often. I have anxiety, the water helps me with the dry throat and helps me with my pains in my chest. It also thins your blood so circulation is better and I dont get as many headaches either. Ever since I have been drinking oodles of water my anxiety has gotten better it seems (could be in my head, I dont really know). And I feel better physically. So give it a try and see what tomorrow brings. Easy fix if it is dehydration.
