Does Anxiety stay with you all day?

I have been suffering for the past month with constant anxiety or at least I think that's what it is. Shaking, nausea, dizzy, can't get full breath. Anyone out there know if it is anxiety? I ask here because my dr. is not helping me with this. He had put me on anti depressants which I found did not agree with me and he said he wasn't prescribing anything more because all anti depressants have side effects. I am dumb founded with his treatment. My pharmacist is also confused. I am going away in 2 days to a wedding that I have to go to (destination wedding). I'm kind of freaking out. I have an anxiety pill i'm taking but it doesn't seem to help very much. I'm on my own with this and it feels very scary.

yes I understand why all of this is making you feel scared. Anxiety can definitely do that. If you want to try another medication your best bet would be to have an appointment with a psychiatrist because they know these medication‘s very well and prescribe them all the time. You could also schedule an appointment for some counseling to learn how to manage the anxiety so you can feel a little better.

I know you said you will be leaving for a wedding in two days so that doesn’t give you any time to go to these appointments, however if you are flying, you can get on YouTube and listen to some excellent meditations for anxiety that will calm you down. There are so many to choose from. if you have some earbuds, Close your eyes and turn on the meditations, it will really be helpful and you will feel like you are somewhere else in a very peaceful environment.

there are meditations for anxiety, overthinking, fear and worry, hypnosis type of relaxation, proper breathing to relax, or just nature sounds like rain and thunder, ocean sounds, etc. something for everyone! just do a search on YouTube for whichever type you’d like to listen to.

you are going to be OK.! Even if you don’t feel like it, take on the attitude that you’re going to enjoy yourself. Stay positive. We can change our way of thinking which can reduce symptoms that we are having. don’t let anxiety take over your thinking. I really hope you have a great trip and that you have fun. Take care

Hi Jan. Thank you for the words of encouragement. As it stands, I do have an appt with a psychiatrist in Dec. for that reason. First, to diagnose me and then if I have to, go on meds. I do have a negative outlook on meds though. I really do not like taking anything. But, I have also found myself bending because it may be just what I need. One of my downfalls is looking everything up on the net. It actually drives me crazy, but I do it anyway. I have a really good meditation app that I will be using while away and will probably be helpful on the plane. The flight will be interesting as there will be 50 of us going to this wedding and all on the same flight. It may be a good distraction. Have to say too that flying at this time (covid) isn't on the top of my list of things I'd love to do. We seem to be organized and know that everyone wants to be safe. I have a bunch of family coming to stay over tonight before the flight so that's another distraction. I'm feeling a bit jittery now (8 AM) but feel I can get through the day with concentrating on positivity and grateful to have my family around me. It's all good! Just have to keep going!!!I just want to stay off the anxiety pills today! Makes me so groggy and doens't really take the jitters away. Again, thanks for your input.
