Does anybody else get nausea?

Hi. I've just been diagnosed with acid reflux and a hiatus hernia. I have looked at all the symptoms for these but it doesn't say anywhere about nausea. I suffer with this nearly all day long and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to stop it.

I wasn't nauseated, I was just usually physically sick after eating. It was strange - a physical response rather than a nervous one perhaps. I didn't have reflux though, just a stomach that was pretty much living in my chest cavity rather than my abdominal one, so the journey that food was trying to make was too contorted, and even a small-normal size meal just couldn't fit. A bit like a gastric band perhaps!

2.5 years post-op (partial fundoplication and sticking a bit of pig tissue over the gap in my diaphragm) I am totally fine now though.

I was checked because I had pains in my chest on new years day and it felt like a volcano erupting into my throat. I couldn't breath.

    Hello

Just to let you know I had terrible problems with haitus hernia and had fundoplication op. 2 years ago. I have to be very careful about my diet but it is manageable. Still get some acid reflux and can be sick if I eatcertain foods eg gluten.

As to nausea I have experienced nausea and lanzopruzole can help - but you need the anti-nausea med like cyclizine which usually do the trick. Nausea may be to do with foods you are eating. So check diet as well. Best of luck dealing with this difficult condition.

To let everyone know there is a U Tube Ayurvedic self massage video for acid reflux which really works!

Hello ClaireI have a hiatus hernia and was experiencing fairly constant nausea over the last six months especially after eating.however the nausea was probably more to do with a stomach problem.i was prescribed ONDANSETRON 4MG four times a day, these worked really well and i was able to reduce to just take one when needed.now i hardly ever need one. Also i found it much better to eat small meals ,had to avoid spicy foods,.
