I heard lithium makes you sleepy. What happens in hot weather?

Hi Richard I wish it made me sleepy.. its makes me feel I'm on fire inside & going to explode.. I came off them last time away which wasn't the best idea.

You may have experienced a bad side effect so maybe you should talk to the Dr about an alternative drug.

Dear Sharon, it would be interesting to know what dose you are taking.  I am on 400mg Camcolit (Lithium) which I take at night.  I seem to have the opposite problem to you - I feel cold a lot.  Layers and layers of thermal vests etc.  I welcome the summer and the chance to have the sun on my skin.  Perhaps it's just my age (60).  Sorry not to be of any help regarding heat and Lithium.  BTW, I agree with Richard about Lithium causing sleepiness.  Clare
