I am currently experiencing a flare , I am going to the toilet 10 times a day and twice in the night, diarrhoea with blood and mucus.

Usually this cause my appetite to decrease but this time I feel hungry most of the time?

Does this happen to anyone else?

Hi Ali... if you can't get an appointment - go to the hospital.  I wish I had done so rather than wait for appointments that never seemed to come.  Mine did get worse even with the meds until I jumped up and down but by then it really had taken too long to get proper treatment.  Long story short.. the longer you bleed with the mucus.. the more damage.  I went onto steriods then azithoroprine and 5mg steriods. It seems to be working though I should know this week how well. But after bleeding for 10 months.. it was a godsend.  Octassa was useless for me and I reacted badly (as a result I do not trust the IBD nurse amongst other 'problems' I've had with her) and pentasa just masked the problem.   While everyone is different with meds and diet and all... if they don't get you an emergency appointment, please please please just head to the hospital.
