Hi, I had virtually constant bleeding for the past 18 months. It is rare but possible for this to occur. I underwent a total abdominal hysterectomy in December and I am feeling much better now. With reference to the cod liver oil, it is a vitamin supplement so it should not interact with any medications but I would always check with a pharmacist first to be safe. I took that to try to help my bleeding but for me it sadly had no effect for me. The hysterectomy was my last resort which is not for everyone and it was a hard decision but I am feeling a lot better now.

I wish you well and hope your symptoms improve x

I have spotting and very light bleeds between periods. My problem is my cycle is so screwed up that I having two or three periods a month now. I have only just received my consultant appointment at the hospital for Feb. 4th. I am currently not taking any meds for fibroids, but do have severe pain on left side all the time. I am most anxious to get the ball rolling as I feel the only solution is surgery. My GP is telling me that bleeding between periods indicates another problem but could be something to do with my fibroaids so Im just waiting to speak with the gyno doctor because I figure I will get the true story from him

i got one light bleed around bout 4 days after my period althouth its alight bleed it feels as if its another period as it lasts a week , all they have found on my scans is a small uterine fibroid which i can have removed but am to anxious of being put to sleep . i am just really worried that the bleed inbetween isnt the fbroid and a sign of soething more serious that is being over looked

    Ann,

if you have concerns that the bleeding between cycles is something other than the fibroid then speak to your consultant about it and your concerns about the anaesthetic (if you haven't already).

For what it's worth, and I don't know if this will change your decision or not, when they remove the fibroids they always take a biopsy of that and the uterine wall to double check.

Whether it is the fibroids or something more serious the truth is, the earlier it is dealt with the better it is and the better the prognosis.

My fibroids were diagnosed very late on and they were extremely big and I can quite honestly say that I wish my diagnosis had come sooner because everything would have been so much simpler.

You are in that favourable position where your fibroid is only small so now would be a good time to have it removed. Please don't leave it so long that it gets to the stage mine were at, the pain was unbearable at times and until I had my hysterectomy I can honestly say I didn't realise just how ill I was.

Yes, i have 2 if them, my bleeding was so heavy I had to use extra large tampons and wear a maxi pad. sometimes I had to change both every 5 to 10 minutes. I thought i was going to bleed to death. This would last for about 3 days than slow down to changing ever 1/2 hour or hour. This would last for sometimes 2 weeks. Than stop and come back a week later. This went on for years. Than all of the sudden it stopped. I starting only bleeding every few months, than every 6 months, now only once a year, and it's very light. It's all so crazy
