Does anyone get numbness in thigh muscles

Posted , 8 users are following.

Recently when I have been walking any distance (doing shopping for instance) my thiighs have had a strange pins and needles sensation in them and then they go almost numb to the touch. I was diagnosed with fibro three months ago and and know most of the symptoms people get (thanks to this wonderful forum) but I have never read anyone else getting this. It is very unpleasant and worrying. Is it just another horrible manifestation of FM?

Hi. I too have experienced that sensation, I also have it at night when I'm asleep. As a result of this I tend not to go out as much and avoid walking very far.

    hi there,

I know that feeling but I get this in a morning. Both my legs are completley numb and it feels like i am paralised.  it normally takes a good 20mins for the feeling to come back.   you are not alone with this problem.

Hi, I get this but only inmy left leg. I find it's connected to restless leg inthe night and a strange pain in the thigh muscle area during the day, but in the morning it's the pins and needles sensations and numbness. I still have no diagnosis as my recent blood tests came back within normal readings. Someone please just tell me what's wrong with me.

Hi Jemini. You didn't say if you have pain anywhere. I started going to doctors because of aches and pains in my hands, arms, knees, shoulders and back. All my blood tests came back normal as did scans and ultra sounds. It was only when I saw a pain consultant that I found out what was wrong with me (after a year and a half) Apparently all the symptoms I had been having including panic attacks was fibromyalgia. Does any of this sound familiar to you. If so you may have it too. good luck and hang in there. x

    Hello Sorelin,

My left foot is almost always cold, whatever the weather. But when I go shopping and go into the fridge aisles it turns into a block of ice! Also my other foot and hands get so cold, and when I come out everything starts tingling and I get pins and needles. Shopping can be very painful!

Hi. Yes I have the same problem and like someone else said I also struggle to walk very far. I also have restless leg and along with this it can make it very difficult to sleep. I do have sleeping tablets for those very tough nights though.  The joys of fibro! X
