This is just a possibility: the standard Omeprazole capsules handed out have a yellow shell. These have two E numbers 104 and 171.

I cannot take these as I have discovered I am allergic to the yellow colouring - it makes my throat close up and I have difficulty swallowing.

If anyone has any allergies to the colours they put in/on tablets and capsules, when you hand in your prescription to be made up, TELL the pharmacist. There is another brand of Omeprazole out there that does not have this colouring.

I thought this worth mentioning although it may not apply to you.

Yes, i am getting the 'lump in throat feeling' when i swallow naturally ie it feels like something is going up and down when i swallow.  I will be having an endoscopy soon i hope.  I've suffered from GORD for 12 years and just lately my symptoms have got worse.

    Hi,

Yes I got that as well. I believe it's called Globus Sensation. It is usaully relieved when you eat or drink.Tried diferent methods to lessen the discomfort. Throat chakra , warm saline solution gargle with turmeric when you feel that there's so much mucus there at the back of your throat. Aloe Vera juice with Manuka honey and ginger with warm water  that serves as my tea after dinner. Hope you feel well. It is not there when you don't focus much on it.
