Around period time and ovulation time i usually get breathing issues . Its kind of difficult to talk, i have yo periodically stop and grasp for air. Iy feels like something is stuck somewhere and cause me to have air hunger. Its been a awgful day today , 3 days before period should start and nothing i take helps these symptons: shortness of breath, pain in back, tiredness, the crazy naseous and irritable stomach discomfort, bloating, heart palpitarions, feel of something in throat, the feel of going crazy, etc.

Yes, I get breathless, even while talking. I sometimes gasp for air. The smallest physical exertion makes me short of breath.

I get the crazy symptoms too.

    So miserable.

Hi Mary - Just to be on the safe side,  maybe you should make an appt with an allergy dr.  I was experiencing shortness of breath that would come on periodically, but always at dinner time (different times of the month).  I thought it was panic attacks because not only am I post menopausal, but I was also weaning myself off of a bad B/P RX.  It turns out I have allergy induced asthma (had it about 15 years ago) Dr said anything can trigger it...hormonal fluctuations, walking by someone smoking etc.  I asked why I always get the shortness of breath at dinner time & she said that’s when your cortisol dips.  I feel so much better knowing I have an inhaler at the ready, cuz the shortness of breath thing is scary.  If it turns out your breathing is ok, I would ask my dr for an anti anxiety RX, because I know you get very anxious when u are gasping for air - Ugh! So awful!

Sometimes a day or two sometimes a few weeks. I just have to try and ignore it along with everything else! I have all yoyr symproms too and then some!

Hey Mary - Can you describe your pain in the back & your stomach discomfort - I started about a month ago with a pain in my right upper quadrant, it wasn’t a horrific pain, more of a discomfort and then it moved up to my middle back between my shoulder blades.  It started with horrible gas & bloating & GERD, it subsided but comes & goes, my digestive tract just feels completely “off” - never been  plagued by this before - Ugh!

Hi Debra, the stomach pain is not really pain . I will describe the best i can. As soon as i get up in the morning i usually feel nauseous. This morning i didnt feel it until i ate something which was only a bite of cake. ( i know not good but it was staring at me). As soon as food or drink hits the stomach it starts palpitating and the nauseous worsen. I can actually see the stomach palpitating like a heartbeat inside. Now this goes on all day until late evenings. The discomfort feeling are like weakness, nauseous, palpitating and discomfort under the ribcage. This morning i noticed the breathing issue didnt start until i ate something. Im wondering if breathing could be an allergic reaction to something like someone mentioned on here. I hope i answered your question.

Debra the pain in back is crazy pain because it feel more like muscle pain not cramps or severe pain. Like a ball under the skin and moving around. ( i know its crazy)Thats the best i can describe it. The pain is usually at the top area of back and shoulder blade area.

Yes, I get all the same things you are describing. My pain will be upper left next to shoulder blade. And I feel like I can't breathe. It's better than it was last year, used to feel like someone was sitting on my back, but still get that feeling during ovulation and before period. I seem to be OK during my period. The throat lump doesn't happen anymore, but still get some nausea, gall bladder pain (even though it's now gone), and frozen shoulder will act up too. Sure hope 2018 is better for all of us!

Oh my gosh. I am lying in bed right now feeling like there's something stuck in my throat. i used to get it on and off with acid reflux symptoms but haven't been able to shake it for the last week or so. I sometimes also feel nauseous as soon as I drink water first thing in the morning and the feeling of a lump in my throat starts. In addition neck, back pain haeadaches. Pain under my right ribcage and in front of my shoulder, pain in stomach, bloating, feeling dizzy and weak and the shortness of breath which feels like I am running out of air. I get it more if I'm going up the stairs and talking at same time or walking and talking. I am so miserable and fed up. This peri is awful. I am depressed and extremely anxious.

Girlrocker, all I can say is that last year at this time I was rock bottom with all of these symptoms and more. Still not out of the woods a year later but things are lessening up and each month is better than the next. Hang in there!

Suzanne my symptons have gotten much better. I had a long eight months of severe suffering...but it has began to taper off. Im having a few symptons around ovulation and period. The major symptons this cycle are breathing and heart palpitations( the palpitations are really crazy today) tomorrow is due date for period. I pray we are symptons free soon or close to it.

Girlrocker, i feel you exactly. I had made a dr. appt this morning and called and canceled. I was like what the h-ck for when I already know its perimenopause. But of course, the dr. will not pinned it to hormones. I will not pay for another prescription. What i did instead was got my grandson asthma machine ( a cute little dinosar) filled it with his meds and used it. Believe it or not afterward I had almost zero breathing issue today.

Its unbelievable how hormones affect your body, i never thought going through the "change" for me would be like this. I started taking Holy Basil, and ashwagandha for depression and

anxiety, it works wonders! I heard CBD oil is great too! Hang in there , hope you feel better soon!😊
