I had a persistent cough since last October. My gp put me on oral steroids and the asthma nurse thought I had COPD and changed my inhalers. In January I was so fed up I made a private appointment with a respiratory specialist who did bloods, CT scan, immunology
and allergy testing. His findings were that my lungs were inflamed hence the cough plus I was very allergic to cats.. He said it would settle down eventually. He also changed my inhalers.
Obviously if this cough is new I would seek advice
