Does anyone have sinusitis with polyps?

During all of the extensive testing I had done, they found I had polypoid sinusitis on top of a devoted septum I already knew I had. I just find it weird my symptoms are all on my left side including my deviated septum. There is a constant post nasal drip on that side. I tested negative for all allergies, tried Flonase, Zyrtec, etc. I’ve been scoped multiple times and the doctors don’t feel there is any correlation. I just find it hard to believe this is all coincidental. I am considering surgery for the polyps and first a trial of singulair.

Has anyone had anything similar? I’m beyond frustrated.

My first sinus surgery before being diagnosed with Menieres I had a deviated septum and a polyp on my chhek bone.  Second surgery a small polyp again.  I have chronic sinusitis and allergies.  Be careful with the one side nasal drip.  As I’m writing this I’m at the hospital being tested for a CSF leak and the constant draining from one nostril is a sign.

It’s more like thick mucus that’s constantly in my throat and really feels like it’s clogging my ear. The doctors keep chalking it up to aural fullness associated with MD. I feel like it’s something else since it clicks and clears somewhat and then seems to clog up again. I feel like I’m trying to solve a puzzle.

Good luck with your surgery 😊

I have these symptoms of mucous accumulation in the throat if I eat dairy. So I don’t eat it and I’m fine apart from having Meniere’s of course!

CSF leaks are unusually common.  Get on Mayo Clinic and read about it.  Drs say it’s allergies and sinus but you can have a leak.  Ask your Dr to check you.  There’s a easy test where you collect your nasal drainage on tissue.

    Hope this helps.

Hi..I too have had a problem with my nose and mucus.

Especially at night when laying down, it seems that my ears and nose plug up with the side facing downwards.  Then when I turn my head the other way, it drains into my other side.  Sometimes i find that I am almost choking because of the mucus at the back of my throat.  When I am upright through the day time, it is much less bothersome.

I now have a problem with a spot on the right side of my nose which feels like a 'dry patch' but deep down.  I have just seen an ENT and was told that it was probably just nerves.

Not sure if it is all related to MD but it is very frustrating.
