Does anyone have these symptoms as I would very much like to compare notes.

Every couple of months I suffer with pain left side, can be chest area or left arm or shoulder tip painThis can be very severe. With the pain I have intense coldness and nausea and/or vomiting. I have also noticed my walking takes on a "toddler gait" at the time of the pain.

This has been going on for some years now and I stopped working because of this five years ago at age 56.

I have had numerous brain MRI scans which show an incidental (!) brain cavernoma surrounded

by haemociderin staining. One inflammatory lesion in brain and other lesions which have been

marked by radiographer as possible demylination.

A lumber puncture was positive for oligoclonal banding.

However, Frenchay neurologist has said he is not convinced this is ms. I am therefore

without a diagnosis.

Does anyone with definite MS experience any of my symptoms?

Have you had an official MS diagnosis? The pain sounds like the Hug to me (I'm getting over The Hug right now) but I've never had nausea or cold extremities myself. Course, MS is a wonderfully random disease...

Not an official diagnosis but my GP tells me that my symptoms are MS. I do not declare MS on insurances etc as I have not had a confirmed diagnosis.

In reply I would state I do not always have the nausea or vomiting. However, the pain is always the same and always my left side.

What's your symptom history, how long has it affected you and where are you located? Do you have periods of remission where things get a little better?

I have had symptoms possibly for 15 years. Was previously told was indigestion and put on Omeprazole, which I still take occasionally. I have regular attacks of this pain followed by months of remission. An attack can last up to three months. During this time I am "fragile" and very tired all the time. The pain symptoms always set in in the evenings, night time and mornings. I do get attacks of the pain during the day sometimes.

In the early years of experiencing this horrible pain my husband would take me to A & E thinking I was having a heart attack. Once the doctors were sure it was not a heart attack I was released, although I still had the pain. When I have months free of pain - although the tiredness persists - I think I am now cured.

6 years ago I had a cholecystectomy as following a severe attack I was scanned and gallstones discovered. I was told the pain was not the right side of my body for gallstones but still I had the op. The pain of course never stopped recurring.

Then about five and a half years ago it was thought I had suffered a stroke. I had a CT scan followed by MRI.

I first noticed my walking was very clumsy and toddler like about 8 years ago. This is very noticeable during my attacks.

I think you definitely should talk to a GP or neurologist about this and give this symptom diary to them. Sounds like you've been through a lot already! The periods of remission do sound like MS but things like infection should also be looked into. If you've ever been bitten by a tick or had an unusual rash then Lyme Disease should be looked into, I hope you can get some help xxx
