Have you ever had a colonscopy or flexible sigmoidoscopy done?

That's good that you have been referred for a scope.  I used to get and still sometimes do, experience a pain where it feels like someone is sticking a poker up my backside.  (sorry for sounding so crude).  My IBD nurse says this is due to severe inflammation in the rectum.

Anyway, try not to worry and keep yourself hydrated.  Good luck with everything

Jason, your symptoms sound worrying but as you are having a scope done then there isn't much more you can do just now. Fatigue and body pain could be severe anaemia due to blood loss, and although they sound bad they also sound typical of chronic uc. The pressure feeling could also be internal piles due to frequent loo visits, they would also cause blood loss and can be frightening when you first see a lot if blood. Thankfully you are being checked soon, if you weren't I'd have said see your GP tomorrow without hesitation. You may need build up drinks and vitamins, ask about that too.

I think you have ulcerative colitis. Your symptoms are classic.

However I am an engineer not a doctor.

Go to your GP. Don't be shy they have seen it before.

My GP used to refer to stools now after talking to me she calls it poo.

Remember everybody poos. Even the queen. We all get the trots from time to time. Even the Queen.

Losing weight due to colitis is common I have lost weight. But I was a bit over to start with. My wife says I am cheating by getting colitis. ☺
