Does anyone have a urinary sympton such as excessive peeing, urgency, leakage, etc. Its only during the daytime and usually around a certin time of the month and last about 2 weeks. I would like ressurance or hear others experiences before i run to the urologist. I just spent over $200 dollars to the cardiologist yesterday. I don't want another unnecessary specialist visit if i dont have to.

Urinary symptoms are very common in menopause. Have you seen the list of 66 perimenopause symptoms that I posted earlier today? Here are two of them:

    15. Frequent Urination, or sensations that mimic urinary infections is a disturbing symptom often unrelieved by actual urination. It is often experienced as the sensation of needing to urinate all the time, even immediately afterwards.

    16. Urinary Incontinence, the uncontrollable and spontaneous loss of urine, or the Urge for Incontinence, can occur suddenly or feel continuous, and not only in response to coughing, sneezing, jumping or running.

I myself get the sudden urge to pee and once that comes I can barely hold it in. I have to run to the loo and sometimes i don't make it in time before it starts to leak down my legs. I believe that this is called urgency incontinence. it only seems to happen when I am at home. When I am out I seem to be able to hold on much better (not had an acccident yet when out and about!). This implies that there is some psychological component to it e.g. that we know we are near a toilet and can get to it soon and then the urine release begins. I have found that exercising the sphincter muscles down there helps - called Kegal exercises, I think. It also seems to have got much better since I started using the ovestin estriol vaginal cream.

Yes I do have an incontinence issue specially around ovulation, it was one of my first perimenopausal symptom, it got better when my dr prescribed estrace vaginal cream but this month is back 😔 I have had a lot of symptoms but this one is the one that bothers me the most. I also had heart tests 😂😐 but all my issues are hormone related. Hope this helps

    Dear Mary

I have the urgency to go sometimes and then it stops and goes back to normal. I am two years post menopause and the symptoms still come and go!
