Does anyone know where to get lquid venlafaxine

Is the only way to get liquid venlafaxine with a prescription from your GP and then a compounding pharmacy.  I rang up Rosemont Pharmaceuticals and they said you need a prescription from your GP and then you go to the pharmacy.  Rosemont charge about £62 to the pharmacy and they wouldn't answer if that is what I would pay.  She said I would have to talk to the pharmacy.  I went into Boots today and the Pharmacist didn't know what I was talking about.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't even know it was available.  I'm intrigued - why do you want liquid venlafaxine?  Does it have an advantage? I take it in slow release tablets, which spreads it out over the day.

I have read it is available, people seem to be taking it.  I thought it might be better because I am on 37.5mg extended release tablets and have been cutting down and do not want to drop the whole 37.5mg as the makers in their wisdom do not make it easy to stop the tablets.  You cannot cut extended release tablets so I thought it would be easier to measure out liquid.

You can get tablets that are not sutauned rekease. They may be easier to get and easier to divide?  Good luck with the reduction

    You can't.

My psych phoned the hospital pharmacy where she works and they had no license to compound it. in USA people get it done but not in uk.

The makers don't want you to get off it! you are a cash cow whilst hooked. you have to suffer the humiliation of cutting regular tabs into crumbs!
