Does anyone with PCOS actually have periods ALL THE TIME??

Hi -

I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago and have learned now to deal with the hair - tweasers help! I have also finally seemed to have got rid of the acne. I'm one of the lucky ones that other than 1/2 a stone or so, have never been over weight.

However, I have my periods sometimes every 2 weeks rather than infrequently like all the writes up describe.

I currently trying for a baby and have to go for a blood test on 'day 21' to check if I'm actually ovulating but my 'day 21' never arrives as another period comes before it each time!

Anyone been through this?

xx

I have just found out i may have PCOS. I have increased testosterone, hair growth and weight gain (particularly around waist). However, my periods are very regular, although extremely heavy most times. I get a lot of discomfort and clotting, severe back pain, etc etc. The good news for me I suppose is that I managed to have two kids, so therefore not affected currently by fertility issues. Not planning any more kids, so just need to deal with the other symptoms. I wish you luck with yours, and remember never to give up hope.

Hi i'm 28, got told 2 days ago, been trying for a baby for a year but thought my lack of luck was due to coming off the injection. Have regular periods, often heavy & painful, Have bad skin and overweight but healthy ish. My docs have been brilliant & referred me to a fertility specalisist. I'll come back when I find out more but would be grateful of any advice anyone has to offer

Hi all. I have pcos an used to have my periods constantly, for maybe 8 weeks without a break then nothing for maybe a month and so on, i was trying for a baby and doc put me on clomid which helped me ovulate, i now have a beautiful baby girl and am trying again but this time i had a bad reaction to the clomid so came off it after 6 months. The reason i am replying to these posts is that i was on the depo injection for years and always blamed it for my pcos problem but all the doctors say that it has nothing to do with it. just wondering is it the same one that 'miss d' was on?????? :?: :?: :?:
