Does citalopram really work

I've been prescribed citalopram but I'm scared to take them due to bad reviews I've also been prescribed xanax for anxiety

I also was prescribed citalopram. I stopped taking them they make you feel out of body and you become very moody and angry. I would recommend prozac. I also take 1mg of Xanax in am and 1mg in evening and I feel great. No anxiety, great sleep,& no depression.
