Hello, obviously I am talking from the male perspective - in that, often there is a whole lot less infected skin to deal with.  Just noticed, OutInSpace are you talking Male BXO anyway?

I personally think Dermovate - which I have used continuously for 7 years plus (or an alternative Steroidal) - is probably the best way of controlling both Male and Female whiteness and scarring caused by Lichen Disorders, at least until you have discovered the dietary, Vitamin and Mineral Supplement Regime that is right for you.

For Male LS / BXO sufferers, I think finding the right Steroid OINTMENT that is right for your skin type and severity of condition is essential.  As ever, added to this: i.) you then have to apply it correctly; and ii.) find the right frequency of application of the right steroid ointment that can combat the affects of the severity of condition you personally have.  In terms of Female specific experiences:

I was thinking through that perhaps the only way of preventing external Genital skin-fusing for Female Lichen Disorder sufferers was actually this process of getting the right Steroid and the right frequency of application, given the presumption that Steroid is applied in all the infected areas, correctly and sufficiently frequently.

    * I would welcome any Women who have been LS / other Lichen Disorder conditions sufferers for several years - and who have managed to halt, and even perhaps, reverse Vulval Skin-fusing - without using a Steroid ointment  - to post a reply to this forum.  Obviously, if this can be achieved - and such a regime can also address white patches of skin, and cure scarring - this would provide a potential means of overcoming the impact of Male LS / BXO ...

    Many thanks all

Hi wee dugie thanks for the reply because you saying that you have been using dermovate for that long gives me hope,  yes i am talking male bxo, also i would just like to ask, when you say control whitness and scaring, do you mean it will only prevent it further, or do you mean it also heals damage already done? While i figure out my diet and nutriets i feel i do need something topical which will start working for me

Prevent, and heal, now they are difficult terms to use!  This is how I see it .... The correct steroid, applied correctly and sufficiently often will keep the infected skin as healthy as possible.  Forget or don't apply the OINTMENT for several days, or even longer and the whiteness and eventually the scarring will return.

Compared to Women with LS, us LS - BXO guys have a relatively small area of skin to be concerned about.

Itching is a major concern (or should be) for women with LS, because, if you constantly give in to the itching and scratch the skin each time you feel an itch you could end up with a severe form of a Lichen Disorder as this will give the Lichen 'infestation' (wrong-term) a stronger hold on the skin it is impacting on!

Therefore us BXO Guys need to be alert to itching, and ,as you ask, the whole thing escalating, spreading and getting far-worse than if it had been treated correctly early on is obviously what we need to avoid .....
