It's that time of year where I feel like I'm under pressure with holiday things going on...  It happens every year and each year around Sept/Oct I try to get myself  together ( ha ha) but I think I just wished that it would go away hoping that it would be January already..   UGH   Would do you do when you feel like y ou can't do everything that you should be...

Hi , it looks like you have a holiday anxiety . Try to remember to make some time for yourself . Relax between shopping . Meet with best friend to have a good laugh ?? Enjoy the holidays !

Yes yes and yes!!  That's the key and I need to remember that! I did some shopping for myself, I will have mani/pedi in about a week,  I went to my son's basketball games last night and hopefully this weekend I will get out with a friend for dinner.  : )   I'm hosting the in-laws this year, I really don't want to BUT it is my turn to have it..

Anxiety can be helped with exercise, Swimming has good possibilities as this activity seems to lift the mood and the act of swimming is good exercise You can go running etc if that turns the mood as well.

We used to travel at Christmas until we got a dog, He is a black Collie and is cheaper to keep than a Travel Agent and their advrtised holidays.

Everyone seems to hate the build up to Christmas, personally I live in the North and prefer New Year.

My Wife knows I bottle out at this time of the year, I would lock the doors and leave a note on the door, GONE TILL MARCH, I will just have to dream about sunny places and bottles of wine

Thanks for the message!!  I've been exercising every day which seems to help-- today I did a class so I laughed some about the holidays with the girls.  But I still wished it would just go away-- Being married with kids, it won't ever be that way.  My friend who doesn't have kids goes away every year during X-mas with other friends with no family..  Sounds like a fun group!!

      Hi Borderriever,

your comments caught my attention, im over here in australia, i just went shopping feeling highly anxious. Carols were on loudspeaker snowmen around made me remember my Christmases in Scotland, we lived near Earlston for a short while. We were snowed in one year, i remember holly, the crisp sound of snow underfoot. The coal fire smells, all those things we dont have here, we have mozzies, sandflies, stinking Heat waves, snakes come out in summer, cane toads. We do have lovely beaches, and bottles of wine!. But  at Christmas my thoughts are often centered on my childhood memories, id swap the heat for the cold just for a short while! Merry Christmas 🎄

It is all mostly your mindset. Excersie releases endorphins that up lift you and helo the body bounce back from the effects stress.
