Does Gilberts Syndrome make you panicky?

Posted , 4 users are following.

I have suffered from panic attacks on and off since I was a teenager (I'm now in my forties.) I also feel tired most days, even if I have had enough sleep. I was diagnosed with GS four years ago and was wondering if other people had suffered from similar symptoms. I feel very lethargic and it is having a real impact on my life.

    Hello Suzie.

I too have suffered from panic attacks and anxiety since my early 20s (I'm now in my fifties). Was diagnosed with GS nearly 20 years ago and recently (last year) with a non-functioning gallbladder after a HIDA test.

The tiredness and lethargy also ring a very loud bell with me. Hope this helps,

    Dave

Hi Dave, many thanks for your reply. It really did help. I know the official medical opinion is that GS has few or no symptoms but that just makes me feel a fraud for always saying I'm tired or not being able to motivate myself. Also, I have read that other GS sufferers are prone to anxiety and depression. I wonder if there is a link. I think I would feel better knowing that this wasn't all 'in my head'!

Just wanted to say I also regularly suffer from anxiety, although i wouldn't go as far to say I have experienced panic attacks. At the moment I don't see there being any reason why GS would cause this anxiety, I think it's just how I am.
