Does it always progress?

Im a 66 year old male and have been treating a enlarged prostate or lazy bladder for about 4 years. I started with Flomax and hated the side effects so I tryed Saw Palmetto herb and it worked great with no side effects. I noticed now where I need to use it twice a day now instead of just once a day to get the same benefits. I only have one kidney and see my uroligist once a year unless I am having problems. I read on my of the posings here that many talk about catheders and surgerys. Will I eventualy get to the point where medication does not help? Itried finasteride 1% for hair loss a while back and did not use the saw palmetto while I was on it. Big Mistake. Bladder got huge. Any feedback appreciated.

It was a trying experience i was living with a catheter from feb 5 to June 23 2016. The doctors was a specialist in Green Laser operations and offered to do it. He had me fill a questionnaire regarding my quality of life. My answeres were vey clear i could not live with this condition. He told me about this GL procedure , i read up on it, i made some enquiries with respect to the uro’s qualifications and met with him and he explained in 5 minutes what needed to be doe and what the risks were.
During the time that i wore a catheter i was apprehensive about my condition and it restricted my life. Again. It was a tough period in my life.
Make a long story short i got operated . I peed without a catheter for the first time in several months. I did nit experience any side effects. Now I’m functioning very well in terms of urination and the operation did not affect my erections except for the semen going into the urine and therefore no ejaculation.
If your prostate is lage and the pills have stopped working i would suggest seeking a permanent remedy. I’m fully satisfied with the results and have not looked back on my decision. I was 65 when i got operated.
if you have more questions please post.
Good luck.

I've been telling the non believers here that for many years. I had my GL when I was 70. My Uro did GL on a Guy of 92 with a prostate over a 100 grms as he said it is a very gentle procedure.
I had a second laser procedure when my prostate was 135 grms in 2013, again no problem apart from an infection as the catheter was left in for longer than the surgeon wanted.
