does it help

My son was put on Pizotifen a few weeks ago for stomach migraines to see if it would help. He is on 1 tablet at night and so far so good, not had any since started. when on hol he did miss a few & had to take them in the morning which on the following night one was about to start but on taking the tablet along with a pain killer it seemed to work. Fingers crossed, he doesn't seem to be sleepy although he is sleeping better at night.

This sounds positive. My son -9 has just been prescribed them for the same thing, we think. I'm worried about side effects and am keen to hear haow you're getting on. Thanks

my son was given pizotifen for migraine of the stomach at the age of 8. He took 0.5mg every night for 4 years with no side effects, and it did its job. I have also taken pizotifen for more years than i care to remember for head migraine only 0.5mg daily if i increase to a higher dose i start to feel quite low in my mood but migraine has that effect too! I would not be without them.

I think I am going to reduce the amount I take (currently on 3mg daily) as the weight is pilling on and I feel so sleepy on them.

But each time I only take one tablet I wake up with a headache the next morning. But maybe I should try sticking with it for a bit longer.
