Does it usually take this long ?!

So I'm no scientist and I no I post on here alot but hearing other exp is always best . So I took Lexapro 10mg for 7 days and came off them due to harm and self harm thoughts and I was also taking lorazepam for 10 days and been off them for 7 days. I notice I've slowly progressed but still get them time to time . Plus being 566lbs an going down to 499 in month and a half doesn't help. But can it take this long for these symptoms to pass ? I notice when I get these thoughts to it lowers my mood . I'm going natrual though proper diet and nutrition and excersise

Hey Brandon! Congratulations on your weight loss! That's fantastic. Lots of health benefits coming your way. I'm no doctor either, but I bet a lot of your anxiety issues stem from feeling out of control for a long time. Now that you're losing weight, your basically regaining your power back. That's a good thing.
A side effect of any anti depressant is self harm thoughts. Did you talk to your doctor about these? How about a therapist? I'm guessing they scared you so you stopped taking the medicine. I had thoughts like that too, but never visualized myself hurting myself. It's so strange.
Anyway, going natural is a personal choice. I however need help. But I exercise regularly, pray and go to church, eat right and see my therapist every other week.
There medicine may not be completely out of your system yet, but you weren't on it that long. Still, the thoughts can be bothersome I think you need to find a therapist and do some talk therapy. And always talk to your doctor. It's worth it!!!!

Thanks alot ! I'm lucky to have alot of support from family and luckly a nutritionist. I think the biggest step is learning that there just thoughts . But I'm leaving therapy as a last choice . Because there so much science behind ways you can get better just but the right amount of vitamins from your food and stuff .

Also Tammy what kind of diet are you on ?! There's alot of learned from my nutritionist that may help you ! And yeah I notice mabey it's just the way my body is going through and because when I started having thoughs thought after 3 days on the meds I prob worried about them so much and panic and panic and panic and because everything in my system was a mess my brain prob devolped them for and every day thing . Bit that seriously can call change . Thearpy is definitely good if you get the right one but something I always learned is you can always teach your self therapy by trying to controll the thoughts you self . Like my nutritionist said once your body starts gaining all the vitamins and stuff it needs from nutrition stuff it can function better . See I lost 56 lbs but never excercise and barley drank water
