Does lemon water effect the librium I'm using to detox?

I can't remember if I've ever actually started a forum before but here's my story I detoxed multiple times. Once in the ER. I'm now starting day 5 of detox while using Librium and I've been drinking lemon water but wondering if it's affecting the medication that I'm using. If anyone has any advice it would be so greatly appreciated

As always, it is important to consult with your physician about medications. Every medication has different side effects with alcohol. Since I am not a doctor I would never give advice that might harm another person - especially when it comes to medication and alcohol.

You should probably contact your physician.  The pharmacist is an excellent person to ask also.

Sorry if that was no help as I do not feel comfortable giving medication advice even though I work in the medication field, ugh.

Good luck with your detox!! smile

I googled this..and this is what I got....but my thinking and little bit of medical knowledge tells me no....lemon has vitamin C in it...so its like taking vitamin C with your librium and that would not affect it.....You probably just still feel lousy because DETOX IS H*LL.

here is a tidbit for you thou:

Drinking lemon water in the morning is the most beneficial time to take it because doing so will help flush out the toxins that your body has collected for elimination throughout the night, while you were sleeping.

Thank you so much for the reply and the research. I was afraid my body would see the librium as a toxin and the lemon would try to expell it when I need it.

Well, if it were me with the concern you have....I was reading..so what I got from reading...was....wait to drink the lemon water at least 30 minutes after taking the librium...it didn't specifically say that...but the way I think about it is....I'd be giving the librium time to get in my blood stream...to take away my symptoms...and then there is a slow process getting to the liver....So I would get the effects of the librium that I would need...prior to flushing my system.

I'm curious as to why you implemented the lemon water into your detox...I'm sure it is a GOOD thing as lemons have natural vitamin C....but from your post..it seems like this concoction is important for you since you are making an effort to drink it daily.

Can you share your reasons why this lemon drink is helping you so I can learn?  And...I also was told by my Dr. to incorporate a "sports" drink with the electorlytes...(one a day)...because we rob our bodies of electrolytes while drinking...but she didn't want me to drink more than 1 a day because of the adverse effects we all get from sugar...and there is alot of sugar in the sports drinks.

She did say plain water was very important for me during detox and to drink more of that than anything else.

Like from what you've researched I saw that if you drink lemon water in the morning that it will push out the toxins in your liver so I would drink that. I just got tired of the taste of regular water so I would just keep adding lemon all day

There was a lady behind me in line yesterday prior to me reading your post...and she had a BIG BAG of lemons...I mean about 15 lemons...I said What the heck?! are you going to do with all those lemons?

She said she puts them in her tea..and she said she just feels better physcially when she uses lemons...so your on to something smile
